Army HIVE Christmas and New Year Closures

The majority of Army HIVEs will be closed after duties on Fri 19 Dec 25 and will reopen on Mon 5 Jan 26. There may be localised variations to these dates for individual HIVEs.

Army HIVE HQ is also closed during the festive fortnight, so any enquiries submitted via the ‘If you need further information’ MS Forms function on our UK, Cyprus or Overseas blogs will be answered when we return in the New Year.

We will periodically cover private messages on our Army HIVE Facebook platform (and X/Instagram where possible) whilst we are closed. However, this will not be 24/7 and should not be relied upon for anything that requires an urgent response.

To support our customers with more immediate requirements however, the Army HIVE HQ email will provide a comprehensive out of office autoreply, detailing points of contact that are either 24/7, emergency providers, or open over the festive leave fortnight. To receive this autoreply, please email:
RC-Pers-HIVEComms-0Mailbox@mod.gov.uk

Individual HIVEs will also provide localised contact details for Christmas and New Year cover wherever possible in their automated replies. Therefore, if you email your closest HIVE, which you can find on HIVE’s page on the Army website, their autoreply may be of additional assistance.

Army HIVE wishes all of its Service community customers, and our internal and external stakeholders, a very happy Christmas and New Year. We look forward to continuing our support and engagement in 2026.

Gibraltar: Three Kings Cavalcade 5th January

Gibraltar Government has released information about plans for this year's event:

As the festive season reaches its peak, preparations are well underway for the annual Three  Kings’ Cavalcade, organised by the Cavalcade Committee in collaboration with Gibraltar Cultural  Services (GCS).

Arrangements for Distribution of Sweets

GCS is working closely with the Committee to ensure sweets are distributed to all attendees.  The distribution of sweets will be carried out by GCS’ staff as from 7:00pm, followed by the  presentation of floats at 7:30pm. The Cavalcade will start at Casemates Square, continue along  Main Street and conclude at the Inces Hall Theatre.

The Mayor’s Stand for Elderly Persons

A seated enclosure will be available opposite the Cathedral of Saint Mary the Crowned. This  facility is intended to provide seating for elderly persons, subject to availability, on a first come,  first served basis.

Safe Space for those with Sensory Issues

The Supported Needs and Disability Office for the Ministry of Equality will be setting up a  cordoned-off safe space outside of No.6 Convent Place for individuals with sensory issues. This  area of Main Street is quieter and there are various entrances and exits available via Town  Range, Governor’s Lane, Convent Ramp and Victualising Office for those that require a quick  exit. Individuals who want to avail themselves of this area will be required to present their  Disability Information Card to a member of staff upon arrival. Entry will be on a first come, first  served basis.

Stands with seats will not be provided; however, persons with mobility issues who require  seating should contact the SNDO on: sndo.events@gibraltar.gov.gi by 4pm on Tuesday 23rd  December 2025.

The public are advised that there may be loud music and those affected by this should bring their  own ear plugs / headphones.

We look forward to welcoming the community and ensuring an enjoyable experience for all.
