The French community will hold a desk at the Miners restaurant on NOV 4th, 6th and 13th from 11h30 until 14h00 to give you the opportunity to buy a bleuet, some goodies made in France or to donate for the Bleuet de France association.
Every year, the French community commemorates on the 11th of November the remembrance of our fallen. From NOV 3rd until NOV 11th you might see your French partner wearing a blue flower on their uniform: the “bleuet de France”.
More than one hundred years after its creation, the vocation of Bleuet de France remains relevant today. Its scope of action is no longer limited to helping soldiers wounded in the two world wars, but also includes those wounded in overseas operations, widows and wards of the Nation. In 1991, the Bleuet de France's missions were extended to help victims of acts of terrorism. Today, this flower embodies the values of respect, peace and tolerance held dear by the entire fighting community. It is worn in France at ceremonies on 8 May, 11 November and 14 July.
The Bleuet de France association supports the families of our fallen and the wounded from yesterday and today’s conflicts. In addition, you will find in your divisions/J a French person from whom you can buy bleuets from Monday, November 3.
