BRUNEI: BFB Remembrance Sunday Service - Sunday, 09th November 2025, 1040 - 1200 hrs @ Guard Room, Tuker Lines


BRITISH FORCES BRUNEI REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY SERVICE INSTRUCTION – 9 Nov 25

General

1. Introduction. Remembrance Sunday is held in the United Kingdom as a day to commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth service men, women and civilians in the two World Wars and later conflicts. It is held on the second Sunday in November (the Sunday nearest to 11 November, Armistice Day, as the anniversary of the end of hostilities in World War I in 1918). All Service Persons (SPs) and families within British Forces Brunei (BFB) are encouraged to attend and participate in this commemoration. The purpose of this instruction is to provide direction to all those participating in the service.

2. Situation. BFB will conduct a service at main Guardroom at Tuker Lines on Remembrance Sunday, 9 Nov 2025. HQ BFB will coordinate all details for this event.

3. Aim. To commemorate Remembrance Sunday and show respect to all that made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of the United Kingdom.

Dress.

Civilians are to be dressed in smart respectable attire.

Media. 

SPs and families are reminded not to publish pictures on Social Media (SM). Authority to publicise any form of media coverage from this event must be sought through the BFB Media Officer.

Conclusion.

Remembrance Day is the annual occasion where SPs come together to remember the sacrifice and loss of those who fought in both World Wars and all subsequent campaigns and Operations. The full support of all participating personnel is required, to ensure the BFB service of remembrance is conducted in a dignified manner, paying respects to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
