The highlight of Paderborn's street carnival is the grand parade through the city center. The carnival procession starts promptly at 2:14 p.m. from Maspernplatz. The number of participating groups has been steadily increasing for years.

The parade has become one of the most beautiful and largest carnival parades in the region. We welcome any group that would like to participate, so that a large, colorful parade can wind its way through the city center. As has been evident in recent years, more and more visitors who enjoy carnival are coming to Paderborn.

The parade starts at Maspernplatz. From there, it proceeds along Hatumarstraße to Mühlenstraße. It continues across the Kisau, along the Westernmauer, into Marienstraße, under the bridges to Rathausplatz, and across the Kamp. Finally, it goes into Kasseler Straße and then down Heierstraße to Mühlenstraße, back to Hatumarstraße towards Maspernplatz. This marks the official end of the carnival parade route.
