NAPLES: Everything you need to know about driving in Italy

 



ROAD RULES

Minimum driving age is 18. 

Important Documents

Drivers must have AFI drivers license, proof of insurance and vehicle registration on person at all times.

DO NOT use mobile whilst driving.

COMPULSARY SAFETY EQUIPMENT
Your vehicle must contain an EC regulation warning triangle, reflective vest/jacket and First Aid kit. Daytime running lights are mandatory even during daylight hours.

DRIVING WHILE IMPAIRED
A blood alcohol level of 0.05 is over the limit and against the law.  If you are in a car accident after drinking, you may be found at fault whether you caused the accident or not.

RESTRICTED TRAFFIC ZONES
City centres around congested historic sites such as Pisa, Milan, Florence now enforce restricted driving zones.
