Have you visited Namur yet?
It’s the capital city of Wallonia and is also home to Wallonian Parliament. With culture, history and culinary delights aplenty a day trip or extended stay will not disappoint.
From the ancient Citadel to river cruises, Churches to gastronomic delights there is sure to be something for everyone. Don’t miss a stop by the Giant Golden Turtle on your way up or down to the Citadel too!
In the Winter Months Namur also hosts the Belgian Cyclo-Cross event in the Citadel and this is brilliant way to spend a day cheering on the elite cyclists as they wind their way up, down and around the muddy course!
Nearby, you will also find Dinant, the home of the Saxophone perched atop a fortified Citadel, the beautified Maredsous Abbey, celebrated for its beer and cheese, the Notre-Dame du Vivier Abbey a former Cistercian domain, the Parc de Furfooz nature reserve and one of the many castles of the region, Domaine de Freyr.
