Brunei: Help is at Hand

This week is the start of the men’s Football World Cup. This should be a time of excitement and community. But for too many people, it’s a time of fear.

Domestic abuse spikes during men’s football tournaments. Research shows that whenever England’s men’s team plays, there is an increase in domestic abuse reports - win, lose, or draw. Football doesn’t cause domestic abuse. But we know that existing abuse can become more severe or frequent during major tournaments.

In light of the above, you might well have personnel or family members looking for sources of support. The MOD's Safeguarding Team have released a video providing advice for anyone in the Armed Forces community affected by domestic advice, please scan the above QR code or follow the link.
