The fair is open Monday to Thursday from 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. 

Friday and Saturday from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

On the last Sunday of the fair, there will be Sunday shopping in Paderborn from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. 


Sat 18th - 20th Oct Pollhans Market  Schloss Holt Stuckenbruck


Three days of fun in Schloss Holte Stuckenbruck (SHSB) at this funfair and traditional market. You can catch a train from Sennelager to SHSB which takes about 15 mins with the station a short walk to the fair in SHSB. More details on the website here.

Sun Oct 19th -  775 - Westphalia - LWL Imperial Palace Museum Paderborn 15:00

Join a public tour at the museum (German language) To learn about the history of Westphalia. From a mysterious first mention in 775 to a duchy, a kingdom, a Prussian province, and finally the state of Westphalia, Westphalia has had many faces throughout its history.

In the Imperial Palace in Paderborn walk through the 1250-year history of Westphalia. Details on the website here.



Sat Oct 18th - German Brass Band Competition - Warstein Doors 13:15 

This annual open competition gives brass band lovers the chance to listen and watch some of the most exciting and creative bands in Europe.  

Up to 35 brass and percussion players per ensemble will win the hearts and minds of the audience and jury with a self-selected short program. There are (almost) no limits to the stylistic diversity and creativity of the program. Show elements are also permitted and, in the truest sense of the word, certainly welcome. Tickets online are 10 Euro and 13 euro on the door. Drive time is 43 mins. Tickets and details available online here.

Halloween events (It's time to book tickets)

The list below is a mix of kids and family friendly events with listings for the definitely not for kids scare fests at theme parks. 

31st Oct - Paderween  Paderborn City Library 

The grounds at the City Library will be transformed into a dark, spooky world.

The first "PaderWeen" also marks the kickoff of this year's Literature Days.

There's a varied program for children up to 14 years old: face painting, workshops, creative craft activities, and a photo booth in MultiCult, as well as photo spots in the Haxthausen Garden.

In the library's reading garden, guests can enjoy the "Cemetery of Forgotten Toys" by Cologne artist Jörn Kölling, which presents spooky short radio plays for all ages.

Starting at 3:00 p.m., visitors of all ages can pick up a puzzle card from the municipal utility company's information vehicle on Kardinal-Degenhardt-Platz.

Anyone who would like to write their own scary stories can practice at the writing workshop in the city library.

At the workshop "How do I become a scary walk-act?" at MultiCult, children learn how to create affectionate scares and then showcase their skills in the "Parkour of Horrors" in the gardens.

An Alice Cooper lookalike will provide surprisingly terrifying encounters, while Kardinal-Degenhardt-Platz in front of the City Library will be transformed into a labyrinth between 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM.

To mark the Literature Days, horror readings with actress Tatjana Poloczek will take place hourly at the City Library starting at 5:00 PM. There are three lecture periods, so there's something for every age group.

27th Halloween Horror Festival at HORRORWOOD STUDIOS! – Movie Park – Bottrop 

Two new horror labyrinths await you:  Blood Moon Trailer Park and the Ahoj-Brause Horror Lab. Over 280 monsters, four scare zones, and Europe's largest Halloween event will make your blood run cold. DJ Max Bering will be setting the mood on the Plaza Stage, while a new show, a live DJ act, and a food zone await you in the rear area of the park. In "Unhallowed 2 – The Freak Show Straight Out of Hell," illusionist Christian Farla brings new acts straight from the underworld into the spotlight.

Families can visit the children's Halloween party from 12pm to 5pm on all 22 selected Halloween days and during the NRW autumn holidays.

New interactive family show : A specially choreographed interactive show featuring Nickelodeon heroes, accompanied by cheerful songs and a Halloween overlay.

Relocated to Nickelodeon LAND: Children's Halloween now takes place at “Fairy World Spin” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: License to Drive.”

Family-friendly activities : Games like Bobbing for Apples, craft activities, a children's maze and stories about Hedwig the Witch provide fun and excitement.

The "Fairy World Spin" attraction transforms into a family-friendly Halloween party experience with light effects and cheerful Halloween music. There are numerous activities for all 4- to 11-year-old Halloween fans to discover.

Heide Park Resort's Halloween event once again offers many wonderful highlights for the whole family. From October 3rd to November 1st, there's plenty of spooky fun, plus extra-long opening hours on all Saturdays, as well as on October 3rd and 31st.



Trick or Treat Rally

Pick up a stamp card for our rally, say "Trick or Treat" at selected shops, and diligently bag your sweets! You can pick up the free stamp card at the Service Center, among other locations. Our overnight guests receive stamp cards at reception. Stamp cards are available for children up to 11 years old. Daily from October 3 to November 1.

At Europa-Park, everything revolves around excitement, horror, and Halloween in autumn. Tons of pumpkins, apples, corn stalks, chrysanthemums, and straw bales create a spookily beautiful scene against an impressive autumn backdrop. Vampires and goblins will wreak havoc against this autumnal backdrop. 



The show program, parade, restaurants, hotels, and attractions will also be perfectly coordinated to ensure a gruesomely scary experience.

There are plenty of activities that are suitable for small children.
