Come and support your SSAFA committee - EVERY penny made is donated directly to your community. 

Bakers welcome to contribute their culinary skills and drop off a cake between 9.30 and 10 on Tuesday 6th October.

DEVON SCIENCE - All Together Online - fun virtual sessions bringing together military children

Kids love to learn and how better than with hands-on and interesting activities using easily accessible items. Delivered by the resident scientist, you will know that your child will get the correct scientific information during the sessions.

This year’s Teej celebration for BFB ladies is scheduled on Saturday, 12th September 2026.

Teej is traditionally celebrated by women to welcome prosperity, good health and long life for loved ones. It is also a moment to take a well-earned break, dress in vibrant traditional attire and enjoy good food, music, dance in the company of friends and families.

BFSWS(O) is now offering another parenting course for year 2026, beginning the 1st of OCT 2026 for five weeks, twice a week.
Every Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The course will take place face to face at the BFSWS(O) training room .

A chance for parents to share their experiences and learn at the same time.

Certificate will be handed upon the completion of the course.

Brunssum: Open Monument Day 2026

This weekend is Open Monumentendag, or Open Monument Day, in the Netherlands. Across the country, over 6,000 monuments open their doors to the general public for free on the second weekend of September, with 2026 being the 40th event. 

Nearly 300 monuments and historical sites around Limburg will be open, including several in Sittard, Heerlen, Maastricht, and Valkenburg. Some sites are not open regularly, and others are normally paid entry. 

Some places will have activities for children, and there is a photography competition for anyone handy with a camera. The monuments range from country castles, wonderful windmills, fearsome forts, and more.
