NAPLES: The Path of the Gods - A Must do whilst living in Lago Patria

The Path of the Gods, he Sentiero degli Dei, between Bomerano and Positano on the Amalfi Coast is a high level path that traverses the cliff face above the coast with continuous views of the Gulf of Salerno, the Faraglioni rock of Capri visible offshore, and the terraced villages of the coast below.

The path is one of the most celebrated walks in Italy. The path is approximately 8 Kilometres one way and is best walked east to west with the sun behind you in the afternoon.
Those who walk the Sentiero degli Dei in May or October when the path is less crowded and the light is at its best describe it as the finest coastal walking experience available in Italy and say the views rival anything available on any coastal path in Europe.

BRUNEI: Passport Renewal and UK Visa Application Information

PASSPORT RENEWAL

1. All BFB Service Personnel are advised to apply for passport renewal at least nine months prior to the passport’s expiry date. Please note that the OGS stamp expires six months before passport expiry, which will restrict overseas travel for operational and exercise deployments, as well as in emergency situations.

a. British Passports Renewal. All applications for UK passports, whether personnel are serving in the UK or overseas, must be submitted online via the GOV.UK website. The applications submitted from overseas will be deemed as MOD FOC applications. Therefore, all BFB Service Personnel are required to seek guidance from their respective Coy MPAs prior to submitting application.

b. Nepali Passports Renewal. The BFB will periodically coordinate with the Nepal Embassy in Kuala Lumpur to conduct Passport and Consular Camps in Brunei. If applications are required outside of these scheduled camps, SPs must consult their Coy MPAs for advice.

2. All Service Personnel are reminded that claim submissions must be made within 91 days from the date of the expense.

UK VISA APPLICATION

1. The BFB Service Personnel whose spouses do not hold a UK visa are advised to apply for a UK visa at the earliest opportunity. This is essential to facilitate travel to the UK in the event of an emergency. They are required to seek guidance from their respective Coy MPAs prior to submitting application.

2. All Service Personnel are reminded that claim submissions must be made within 91 days from the date of the expense.

BRUNEI: Do you have a visa or consular issue? Please follow the correct procedure....

CONSULAR AND VISA ISSUES

All consular and visa applications relating to SPs’ service in Brunei are processed through the Garrison RAO Dept, with the RAWO as the Garrison lead. All applications, and any issues arising from them, must be processed through the RAO Dept to ensure that the CoC can manage applications on their behalf.

Applications from BFB are processed by either the High Commission in Kuala Lumpur or direct through the Home Office. The British High Commission in Brunei do not process any visa or consular applications and are not able to assist SP with them. SP must not email the BHC in Brunei direct but should direct any issues to the RAWO, who will then engage with outside agencies to expedite applications or resolve issues where necessary.

Please email all enquiries through to 2RGR RAWO:

Army HIVE Says Thank You and Farewell to Longest Serving Overseas HISO

This week marks our longest-ever serving Overseas HISO - Jo Ratabuli - leaving Episkopi HIVE for pastures new. Over her 14 years in post, Jo has been absolutely central in supporting her customers in Epi and wider across BFC, unit moves to and from Cyprus, our Non-UK Nationals, and so much more – her knowledge, warmth and exceptional customer service will no doubt be remembered by many customers and colleagues from across the last decade and a half. Suffice to say, Jo will be a much-missed member of the Army HIVE team, not only from her current BFC colleagues (Karen-Grace, Donna, Emma, James, Jen and Katie) but the rest of the Army HIVE team too!

Our Cyprus Area Manager, Karen-Grace, penned the attached poem and it perfectly captures Jo’s achievements, the differences she has made over her 14 years in service, and the sentiments of her team.

From us all in Army HIVE, Jo, Vinaka vakalevu (thank you very much), Moce mada (until we meet again), and may your next chapter be filled with joy, peace, laughter, and the same warmth you gave so freely to others.
