Garrison Notices:

  • First up, if you didn’t grab a ticket for the coach trip, bad news—it is now officially sold out.
  • The Community Support Team’s Coffee Morning runs every Wednesday at 10:00 AM.
  • Keep Wednesday October 7th free for the BFBS big salute Cake Morning at Brydon House.
  • Art classes with Kellie are happening this Sunday, October 3rd, at the LCC. Classes start at 10:00 AM, costing 10 euros per person. Themes include "Flutter and Flow" and "Pencil Postcards." Contact Kellie directly to book your spot.

This Saturday is German Unity Day.

Shops treat this exactly like a Sunday Everything will be closed, so make sure to stock up on your groceries and essentials before Saturday.

Brunssum: What's on this October?


There’s lots happening in and around JFC Brunssum in October. Below is a summary of a few things to pique your interest. More information on some events will be provided throughout the month.

JekerJazz Music Festival: JekerJazz has grown into a city-wide festival featuring live music in Maastricht's cafes, with over 40 stages and 85 concerts. JekerJazz is a free admission festival with a wide variety of music genres: Jazz, Blues, Soul, Rock & Roll, Americana, New Orleans, Roots, Mediterranean, French, Italian, RockaBillie, TexMex, and more.

JFC Chapel Fall Festival: A day of faith, family and fun! The chapel will hold their service at the JFC Sports complex, followed by a BBQ with bouncy houses, a dunk tank, and more family fun games.

Falling into Fun Festival: join the CDC for an afternoon packed with autumn fun - face painting, pumpkin carving, barn yard games, and more!

Oktoberfeest Sittard: There’s something for everyone, including steiners, singing, sausages and even fun fairs for the kids. There is plenty to do in Oktoberfeest in Sittard.

Germany: Vigillance is for everyone

Vigilance matters: Everyone has a role in protecting Defence

What should you look out for?
  • Individuals, vehicles or activity that appear unusual or out of place.
  • Unauthorised photography, note-taking or observation of Defence sites, personnel or activities.
  • Attempts to gain access to restricted areas.
  • Unattended, suspicious or unexpected items or packages.
  • Unsolicited approaches seeking information, whether in person, online, by email, text message or telephone.
  • Behaviour that may indicate hostile reconnaissance, sabotage or other security concerns.

What should you do?
  • Trust your instincts. If something doesn't look right, report it.
  • Follow local security procedures and reporting arrangements.
  • Challenge appropriately where it is safe to do so.
  • Never assume someone else will report a concern.
  • Remember that information which appears insignificant in isolation can be highly valuable when combined with other reporting.

⚙ ๐Ÿ“‹ ๐ŸญWorkshop Management: Set work schedules, manage production targets and quality standards, log attendance, approve wages/hours, and maintain machinery and tool checks.

Safety & Security: Maintain security and discipline, conduct metal detector scans or rub-down searches, complete safety/incident reports (such as ACCT, VRIR, and SIRs), and enforce health and safety standards (including COSHH).

๐Ÿ”’ ๐Ÿ›ก ๐ŸšจPrisoner Development: Induct prisoners, tailor training to individual needs, and contribute to progress reports, parole, and sentence planning.
